Damascus United Methodist Church belongs to the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. As a member of the Methodist Church we support the UMC mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Since it's beginnings in 1729, the United Methodists have embraced the idea of "the ministry of all believers." While pastors lead the churches, every United Methodist Member is in ministry, supporting Christ and the church with prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.
Damascus United Methodist Church - History and Organization
DUMC has been serving the Damascus area since 1822 when our first church was built on land deeded to the Church. Many changes have occurred over the course of over 200 + years as we have weathered the times, the growth of Damascus and the changes in our nation, but through it all the heart of the church has remained the same - a place to continue nourishing the seeds of faith with love, hope and perseverance. We are a diverse, loving community where people of all ages and walks of life connect through the love of Christ and sharing that love with others. We belong to the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, and have recently become part of the Damascus Area Hub (listed below) to better serve our communities.
